High-volume plastics manufacturer

From shift logs to live press reporting

A plastics manufacturer brought press counts, scrap, and downtime into one view so supervisors could see how a run was going while it was still on the machine.

Finding out what happened after the shift

The press could tell the team how many cycles it had run. It couldn’t explain why a run fell behind, how many parts had been scrapped, or what changed when the next job went on. That context lived in operator notes and shift logs, so supervisors had to piece together the story after the fact.

Putting the machine and operator on the same record

Pocket-E Flow brought production counts and press status into the production record as the machine ran. Operators added the information the press couldn’t supply, such as why it stopped or why parts were rejected. The counts and the reasons could then be reviewed against the same run.

Pocket-E Beacon turned those records into a shift view with output, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). A supervisor could start with a press that was behind and look at the stops or quality losses behind the total.

A more useful shift handoff

Supervisors had a view of the current run during the shift and a record to refer to at handoff. When a loss kept showing up, the team could go back to the affected runs instead of assembling another report from separate logs.
