From PLC signals to a useful operator prompt
On an assembly line, Pocket-E is connecting machine signals to the active part, the components at the station, and the output container.
The PLC was connected. What did the signals mean?
On a current Pocket-E project, we can read hundreds of tags from an assembly line’s programmable logic controller (PLC). Getting the connection working gave us the signals. The next step is working out what each useful signal means alongside what is actually happening at the station.
Start with the questions the operator needs answered
Which part is running? Does the station have the right components? Is the output container missing, full, or for a different part? Those are the checks we’re working through as we line up the machine signals with the job, the materials, and the container.
The goal is to give the operator something useful to act on. If the output container needs attention, for example, the screen can say to check it instead of leaving the operator to interpret a changing tag value.
Carry that context forward
That same context will matter if the team uses the data for AI later. A model would need to know which part was running and what was happening at the station. Connecting that information is the work underway now.
